The Broncos had one of their best seasons in recent memory, although at times it didn’t feel that way to Broncos fans and the players themselves. There were a number of games that made you question how good this Broncos team is. Two games stand out immediately. The Broncos somehow needed overtime to beat the Washington Commanders who were playing the game without their franchise quarterback Jaden Daniels. The other game was their home game against the Raiders which should have been an easy win, but ended up being a nail biter because of the Raiders defensive performance against the Broncos. The problem for the Broncos on Saturday is that they will be playing one of the best quarterbacks in the game in Josh Allen and a team that is experienced in playoff football in the Bills.

All this means is that the Broncos will have to put points on the board against Buffalo, an area they have struggled all year in. Fortunately, the Bills defense is not one of the best ones left in the playoffs. The Bills are prone to giving up lots of yards in the running game. However, the Broncos have had trouble all year in creating big plays in the running game. Bo Nix might be the best Broncos runner at this point. The Broncos passing game is better, but still features limited receiving options other than Courtland Sutton. On defense, the Broncos should hold their own against the Bills. However, James Cook is a very good running back and Josh Allen is willing to do whatever it takes to gain yards in the passing or running game. It will be interesting to see how some of Allen’s injuries show up in how he plays against the Broncos on Saturday.

Saturday will be the Broncos time to show that their regular season record was not a fluke and that they are indeed the best team in the AFC. Playoff football is different and it could be a wild ride for Denver against Buffalo. If Bills quarterback Josh Allen is allowed to improvise against the Broncos defense, then this game could be trouble for the Broncos. Ultimately, the game will probably hinge on whether Denver can put points on the board against the Bills. Playoffs bring pressure and the Broncos will be feeling it for the first time on Saturday.
